Earlier in the month, Ostrowski and second-place finisher Vivian Liu won their way into the school-level bee during preliminary classroom competitions. Other participants included fellow eighth-graders Ben Brown, Nishkal Pisal, and Max Strazdus; seventh-graders Jasper Green, Rebecca Miller, Lucy Pritchard, Olivia Ren, and Sophia Zhou; and sixth-graders Matteo Barbosa, Holly Fisher, Sawyer Madison, and Keith Taylor.
Ostrowski and other school winners from around the state will next take an online test; top scorers from Massachusetts will be eligible to compete in the state bee March 31.
