Former Bromfield student, athlete, loving family member

Jennie Anne Michaels, 27, died unexpectedly at her home in Worcester Dec. 5, 2016. She was born at Emerson Hospital on Jan. 20, 1989, and is survived by her parents, Anne Marie and Jason Michaels, and her brother, Jack Michaels, all of Harvard. She is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Kathryn and Richard West and Loretta and Jerome Michaels, and her uncle, Peter West. Jennie was named after her maternal great-grandmother Jennie Pello.
Jennie attended the Bromfield School in Harvard and excelled in her studies. She loved running track and playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. One of her greatest joys was her camaraderie with her teammates. While at Worcester State University, she completed two years’ coursework, focusing on English literature. Journaling and writing poetry helped give her perspective and peace.
Jennie is also survived by a large extended family that includes uncles, aunts, and cousins. They are Richard West and Daniel West of Harvard, Kathleen West and Tanya Wallace of South Hadley, Jeffrey and Marcia Michaels of Virginia, Rob and Bea Steinberg of Cambridge, and Anita West of Louisiana.
Jennie was fortunate to have attended Bromfield along with some of her beloved cousins, including Kimberly West, Robert West, Ryan West, David West, and Christopher West. Other beloved cousins include Jared Michaels, Gabrielle and Simone Steinberg from Cambridge, Rebecca Wallace-West from South Hadley, and Karlton West, Kathryn Duhon, and Kevin West, all of Louisiana.
Jennie will be best remembered for her amazing spirit and love of her family and friends. Jennie was known to be an avid Celtics fan, and she excelled in soccer and her schoolwork. She enjoyed the simpler things in life such as petting her dog, reading, and enjoying family vacations.
