I used to be a subscriber of The Harvard Press. Over the past few years, I have noticed less and less content that matters to our young family. As a member of a community where people move here for the schools, I continued to be disappointed by the level of content with regards to the schools. I didn’t move here for the schools; my husband grew up here. But more and more disappointments like the following are why we are moving out of town. My daughter was in “The Aristocats,” and I thought of how excited she would be to see herself and her friends in the paper. Sadly, though, my daughter was in the Tuesday-Thursday cast that was completely left out of the spotlight to our community. It takes a ton of courage for these children to step out of their comfort zone and perform for a large crowd. Then to look in anticipation of pictures and memories of their big night to see they were not included—heartbreaking.
I will not be renewing my subscription and I believe the Harvard Press owes a huge apology to a group of children who gave just as much effort and enthusiasm on their big night as did the children you featured in your paper.
