Historical Society annual meeting
The Harvard Historical Society will host its annual meeting on Thursday, Dec. 8. A brief business meeting will be followed by a presentation by former Harvard Fire Chief Peter Warren on the history of the Harvard Fire Department. All are welcome to attend the business meeting at 7 p.m. or the presentation at 8 p.m. A reception will follow.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Harvard PTO will hold its annual Scholastic Book Fair in the Hildreth Elementary School library at the following times.
- Monday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 15-16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.
- Thursday and Friday, Nov. 17-18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 19, 1 to 4 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 21, noon to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 22, noon to 4 p.m.
The event is open to the public. All proceeds will benefit the Harvard Public School system.

Holiday auction to benefit NRWA
The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA), which protects water and land resources and provides environmental education programs, has announced its holiday online auction. Among the auction offerings are ski tickets from New England and Utah resorts, Boston Bruins tickets, ironstone; jewelry, rock climbing, billiards, gift certificates for restaurants and shops, hotel stays, and tickets to local attractions. The bidding opens at www.BiddingforGood.com/NashuaRiverWatershed on Thursday, Nov. 17, and continues to Dec. 2.
Basic life support/CPR course offered
Always On Call Health Services, Inc. will offer the American Heart Association’s BLS for the Health Care Provider CPR course (includes CPR for infant, child, adult, and AED) on Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 285 Central Street, Leominster. The course is geared to people who work in healthcare fields, day care providers, and nursing school students. Registration is required in advance. Commuter rail schedule adjustments
The MBTA is reminding customers that fall commuter rail schedule adjustments will take effect on Monday, Nov. 21, in order to provide more accurate arrival and departure time and service information. The revised schedules include the new Wachusett station on the Fitchburg line, which opened for service on Sept. 30. For schedule details go to http://bit.ly/2frR7jC.
