The presidential campaign sticker was impossible to miss the other morning, given its prominent placement on a vehicle that was sufficiently outside the painted lines of a parking space to prevent use of the adjacent space, which at that moment was the only empty one at the Transfer Station. Its familiar slogan, “Make America Great Again,” doesn’t do much for me—I think our country’s pretty great right now—but I’ll concede there’s room for improvement. A campaign to, for instance, “Make America Considerate Again” is something I could certainly get behind. The courtesy of occupying only one parking space instead of two wouldn’t get us all the way there, but it would be a start.
