The Lit’ry Life 2016: Poetry by Sophie Thompson

August 11, 2016

Predator and Prey

Lions are not tame
They look all the same
I watch their brows knit
While they sit
Then they go get their game

Zebras are striped
They’re all the same type
I watch them eat grass
While they collect in a mass
Then they all take flight

The Beach

The sand is millions of little stars twinkling in a vast galaxy.
The shells are sprinkles on a sundae.
The waves are cats and dogs fighting.
                                 The beach is a collaboration.
