The Panthers struck first as Jared Harrington hit a two-out single to left with runners on first and third, putting the score at 1–0. In the bottom half of the frame, junior Trojans Scott Jarosz and Sam Rosenfield hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners for Maddalone. After Rosenfield stole second, Maddalone doubled to left, scoring two and putting Bromfield up, 2–1. Sophomore Rory Van Dorpe brought Maddalone home with a single two batters later, making it 3–1 Trojans.
Bromfield would go on to plate three more runs in the bottom of the third inning, with Rosenfield and Maddalone each getting their second hits of the game. In the fourth, the Panthers scored their second run on an RBI groundout from Josh Wyatt-Gray, making it a 6–2 game. The Trojans got the run back thanks to a passed ball in the bottom half, leading 7–2 into the fifth.
Combining for seven runs between the fifth and sixth innings, the Trojans ran away with a 14–2 lead over Parker Charter. In the top half of the sixth, Keady came on to pitch, working his way out of a bases-loaded jam to leave the score at 10–2 at the time. The bottom half of the frame came with four runs from Bromfield, all of which were on errors by the Panthers. Maddalone finished a good afternoon with three hits to go with his five innings on the mound.
In the top of the seventh, after sophomore Jackson Harrigan recorded the first out on the mound, Keady received an ovation as he was taken out of the game, finished with his Trojan career. Harrigan would strike out two more Panthers to put and end to the game at 14–2 Bromfield.
With their most recent victory, the Trojans have set a new school record for wins in a season. As Keady is the only player graduating from the Bromfield roster this spring, the Trojans have a team that is well-prepared for next year’s season.
