Moonlight cemetery tour

May 26, 2016

The Harvard Historical Society invites the public to the old burying ground Saturday, June 4, to meet some of the town residents whose lives were directly affected by the Civil War. On this fundraising twilight/moonlight tour, you will hear their stories of what life was like as a soldier or a nurse on the front lines and how those left behind were touched by the tragedies of the war.

The tours will start at the cemetery entrance between the General Store and the Congregational Church and will have staggered starts every 15 minutes from 7:30 to 8:15. The tour will last about 90 minutes. When you are finished with your tour, come to the Congregational Church for refreshments.

To help with logistics, please reserve a tour time by emailing curator@harvardhistory.org or by leaving a message at 978-772-6772. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers with a reservation and $5 additional on the evening of the event. Should there be heavy rain, the tour will be Sunday, June 5. All proceeds go to public programming and maintenance of the society’s buildings and collections.
