At the Parks and Recreation Commission’s May 2 meeting, Harvard Conservation Trust member Jim Lee reported on trail work done last fall at Harvard Park using Community Preservation Committee funds approved at the 2015 Town Meeting.
The initial expenditure was $42,000 for Pinard’s Landscaping to put in the woodland trails. After the winter, there has been overflow in some places and one total washout. Pinard’s will put in seven or eight new culverts and repair the trails. This additional cost of about $5,000 was anticipated, said Lee, and will not be a recurring cost. He expects about $35,000 of the original $80,000 to be returned to the Community Preservation Committee.
