I am writing in support of Libby Levison as a candidate for the Board of Health.
I have known Libby for several years as a person who cares deeply about our community and who will roll up her sleeves and work with others to make it a better place.
Most recently, Libby has organized and participated in neighborhood roadside cleanups and helps build awareness of the importance of controlling invasive vegetation. Prior to this I came to know Libby through her involvement in the Harvard Solar Gardens, during which she showed a willingness to collaborate and contribute significantly in several different capacities, with humor and a good-natured “can do” attitude.
I also know Libby to be involved as a public health professional on a global scale, to which she brings extensive knowledge as well as an on-the-ground, practical, problem-solving approach. Her breadth of experience in both proactive and preventive means for disease control and other multi-dimensional environmental/biological issues would serve any community well. Harvard would be lucky to have her serve as a volunteer in many different capacities, with the Board of Health an especially well-suited role.
I hope folks in Harvard will get to know Libby, take a look at her qualifications, and consider her for a seat on the Harvard Board of Health.
