We are overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the kindnesses shown to our family during this most difficult time. We never felt alone in our grief for a moment thanks to the many, many friends and organizations that stepped in immediately with help of every kind. Because of you, the candlelight tribute to Michael at the Hazel farm, the visitation evening at the Abbey, and the reception after his funeral Mass were simply beautiful.
For all of you who traveled so far to be with us and with Michael, we cannot find the words to adequately thank you. We can only tell you that we will never forget this kindness. We are sincerely grateful to the Harvard Fire Department and the Harvard Lions Club for their many acts of kindness and also to those who provided meals, flowers, gifts of remembrance, and donations to the Abbey in Michael’s name. We thank Jack McGaffigan of Hamilton-McGaffigan Funeral Home for taking such special care of our son and brother. We give special thanks to Father Peter, Abbot Xavier, and the entire Saint Benedict Abbey community as well as Deacon Court Shields for all of the beautiful things they did for Michael and especially for embracing us in our grief.
Michael was a kind, loving young man who will forever remain in our hearts.
