This week police made four traffic stops, which resulted in two citations and two verbal warnings. Police assisted one motorist with a disabled vehicle and responded to four requests for fire permits. The ambulance crew responded to five medical emergencies and took four people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support on board. One person refused treatment and/or transport to the hospital.
Tuesday, Dec. 1
At 2:07 p.m. a Sherry Road resident called to report a case of credit card fraud.
Wednesday, Dec. 2
A Slough Road resident called at 9:33 a.m. to report an IRS phone scam. At 4:35 p.m. a motorist traveling on Interstate 495 called to report concerns that a boat being towed was not properly secured. The call was referred to state police. At 6:45 p.m. a caller reported hearing gunshots in the vicinity of the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge parking lot. Police say the sound was from U.S. Customs officers doing night shooting at Devens.
Thursday, Dec. 3
A Stow Road resident called at 10:37 a.m. to report concerns about an animal under the car in his driveway. An officer euthanized the animal, a fox, which had been injured.
Friday, Dec. 4
A Brown Road resident called at 10:34 a.m. to report a low-hanging utility wire. Verizon was notified. A motorist called from Dunkin’ Donuts to say his car had been rear-ended on Route 2. State police were notified.
Saturday, Dec. 5
Someone called at 10:40 a.m. to report that a car was parked in a no-parking area near Town Hall. An officer located the owner and advised that the car would have to be moved. A resident on Candleberry Lane called at 1:04 p.m. to report that a kayak had been stolen from the boat rack at the town beach. At 5:21 p.m. police were called to a single-car accident on Littleton Road, where a car had struck a deer. The driver was not injured; the car was towed.
Sunday, Dec. 6
State police requested the Harvard ambulance at the scene of an accident on Route 2 eastbound. Fire and ambulance personnel responded; one person was taken to the hospital. Boxborough police called at 4:53 p.m. to ask for assistance in responding to an alarm. At 5:19 p.m. someone called to report being nearly run off the road by another car and gave police the plate number of the car. Police investigated and say a citation is pending.
Monday, Dec. 7
An officer on patrol at 1:47 a.m. stopped at Solar Design Associates on Ayer Road to investigate an occupied vehicle parked there. Police say the occupant was a worker at the business. Someone called at 11:10 a.m. to report that construction trucks were parked in a hazardous location on Bolton Road. Police asked the construction workers to move the vehicles. A resident on Quarry Lane called at 7:05 p.m. to report concerns about a car that had, on several occasions, parked in front of the house late at night with its lights on. An Oak Hill Road resident called at 9:27 p.m. to report seeing someone on the property walking past the house’s French doors. An officer checked the area but did not find anyone.
