The Bromfield girls varsity soccer team ended its regular season on a high note with a 3–0 victory over Littleton on Wednesday, Oct. 28. In chilly temperatures and pouring rain, the Trojans dominated the game, beating the Tigers to the ball repeatedly.
Two of Bromfield’s three goals were scored by senior Sophia Turchetta. Her first goal was assisted by sophomore Sarah Moore, the second by junior Kaeli Armstrong. Armstrong also assisted Moore, who scored Bromfield’s third and final goal.
Bromfield’s win over Littleton secured a second-place finish in the Midland Wachusett C League with an overall league record of 8–2. The league was won by Oakmont with a league record of 9–1. Bromfield’s overall season record was 13 wins, one tie, and four losses.
The postseason officially started on Nov. 2. Out of the 14 teams qualified for playoffs, Bromfield is ranked seventh, a good location for the Trojans because, unlike top-seeded Millbury, the Trojans do not have a target on their backs.
Bromfield won its first playoff game 5–0 on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Harvard Park against Monty Tech, which was ranked fourth in the Colonial League. Monty Tech, with an overall record of 11–6–1, promised to be an exciting opponent for the Trojans. But the Trojans held them scoreless
