Barbara Farrell Wilson, 91, of Norwood, passed away at home on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Barbara was the wife of the late Leo F. Wilson, and the mother of Nancy Wilson of Dennis Port; John Wilson and his wife, Mary, of Harvard; Mark Wilson and his wife, Paula, of West Dennis; Sue McQuaid and her husband, Tom, of Norwood; and Michael and his wife, Jenny, of London, England. She was the sister of Rosemary Farrell of Norwood. She was the loving grandmother of Megan Wilson, Anne McWaters, Katie Wilson, Bryan Wilson, TJ McQuaid, and Kristen McQuaid, and she had seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara grew up in Arlington, graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy, and attended Boston University. She was a former employee of Walpole Woodworkers and an avid volunteer within her community, assisting in the schools, Norwood Hospital for 40-plus years, and Norwood Ecumenical Community Food Pantry. She served as a town meeting member and was active with the Ladies Guild at St. Timothy’s.
Barbara’s funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 10, from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt. 1A), Norwood, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Timothy’s Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood, at 10 a.m. Interment was at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
