Housing Matters conversation
The Harvard League of Women Voters, the COA, and the Friends of the Harvard COA will host Housing Matters, a conversation about housing in Harvard Sunday, Oct. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the library. The public is invited.
Let’s go to the movies
The Council on Aging will host a movie Monday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the library. The featured film will be the story of singer/songwriter Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, examining his musical brilliance, personal voyage, and ultimate salvation.
Visit to the
Museum of Fine Arts
Seniors will visit the MFA in Boston Wednesday, Nov. 4. The cost is $25 plus the cost of lunch; payment is due Oct. 21. On special exhibition is “Class Distinctions—Dutch Painting in the Age of Rembrandt and Vermeer.” The COA van will leave Harvard at 8:45 a.m. and return around 3:30 p.m. For reservations and information call 978-456-4120.
Medicare presentation Oct. 28
For those seniors with a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan or a Medicare Advantage Plan (HMO or PPO), open enrollment is Thursday, Oct. 15, through Monday, Dec. 7. This is the time to review your current plan and the chance to change plans in 2016. All those enrolled in Medicare plans should have received notification by mail of current plan changes. To review those changes and to confidentially discuss options, a trained SHINE counselor will be present at Hildreth House on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. SHINE is a state agency that helps elders and individuals with disabilities to understand their health insurance options. Halloween costume party
