New York native, mother of Harvard resident
Adele Anne Reeth, 75, died in her home in Sterling on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015.
Adele was born in New York City to Josephine Weber and George Reeth. She grew up in Queens, New York, raised her family on Long Island, and then relocated to Sterling, Massachusetts, in 1997 to help raise her grandchildren. She was particularly fond of the New York beaches at Robert Moses State Park and Montauk, where she spent many summers and time in the off-season, but she also loved the beauty of the town of Sterling as well as the people she met there.
She was happiest when talking and laughing with her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, and she lived for her children and grandchildren. She could often be seen at her grandchildren’s sporting games, rooting them on, and she surrounded herself with their artwork. Adele took up yoga several years ago and enjoyed classes and the camaraderie at the Leominster Council on Aging.
Adele is survived by her four children and their spouses and partners: Christine and Steve Wyman of Harvard; Lisa and Daniel Johnson of Amityville, New York; Joseph Bisagni Jr. and Michelle Taormina of Babylon, New York; and Nicole and Armando DelToro of Bethesda, Maryland. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Alexander and Nicholas Wyman; Walter, Danielle, and Nolan Johnson; Colin and Andrew DelToro; and Brianna Bisagni. Adele is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by her brothers Richard, John, and Dennis and her sisters, Arlene and Edna, all of New York. Her brother Donald predeceased her.
A private celebration of life will be held at her home in Sterling with a scattering of ashes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Jimmy Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
