Miniature Wargames Demonstration

Love Songs
The Durga Studio will host The Love Songs of Lalla Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at Old Frog Pond Farm, 38 Eldridge Road. Paddling, Rowing, Racing on Bare Hill Pond
The second annual Tour de Pond, sponsored by Bare Hill Rowing and the Harvard Parks and Recreation Commission, will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. on Bare Hill Pond. The event will include a fun, family-friendly oar and paddle race around the pond, a barbecue, and prizes. Canoes, kayaks, singles, and paddleboards are welcome. Boats will be available to borrow. Reception and Outdoor Sculpture Walk
The opening reception for Old Frog Pond Farm’s annual outdoor sculpture exhibit will be on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors can meet with artists, take a self-guided tour, and listen to live music by the Morningside Studio Jazz Band. Warner Free Lecture Series 125th Anniversary
The Warner Free Lecture Trust will begin its 125th season with Hina Hirayama, visiting fellow at Harvard University, who will discuss the American scientist and collector Edward Sylvester Morse (1838-1925) Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the library. Among his many contributions in diverse fields, his role as a “public Japan expert” was particularly important, and one that brought him to Harvard in 1891 as the inaugural speaker of the Warner Free Lecture Series. Hina Hirayama will explore Morse’s adventurous life, paying special attention to his activities in Boston in the 1880s and 1890s vis-à-vis Japan.

Craft Festival
Fruitlands, in partnership with the Worcester Center for Crafts, will host a juried festival of New England crafts Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine in the museum’s upper fields. Local artists will sell handmade crafts, including glass, photography, mixed media, wood, ceramics, and jewelry. Heart-Healthy Trail Walk
The Nashua River Watershed Association will host a trail walk at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge in Harvard Tuesday, Sept. 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This guided trail tour is free, open to all ages, and will take approximately 20 minutes. Sponsored by the Healthy Heart Trails Project, the primary goal is to motivate people to walk local trails as part of their healthy exercise routine.
