Summer rowing has come to a close. The Bare Hill Rowing Association thanks the Harvard community for its tremendous support this past season.
Thirty-seven participants took Learn to Row lessons, three adults joined the experienced adult program, and approximately 30 student athletes participated in our competitive summer program. We were delighted that all our employee coaches were BHRA alumni. The opportunity to try a new sport, enjoy personal and team successes, and provide students with gainful summer employment would not have been possible without the support of the Harvard community. Operations on the pond were significantly enhanced by a wireless technology communication system, the first of its kind, formulated and generously underwritten by Ray Gecawitz and his company, Trident Communication Technology.
BHRA extends sincere thanks to the town of Harvard, the harbormaster, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the pond committee, the Harvard Conservation Trust, and our town neighbors and friends who supported our summer program and operations. The value of teamwork resulted in providing unique recreational experiences and opportunities in Harvard this summer. As we prepare for an exciting 2015–16 scholastic rowing season, BHRA will continue to do its very best to make our community proud and rowing accessible to all.
