Local blueberries are ready for picking at Carlson, Doe, and Westward orchards! Blueberries can be frozen on trays and stored in freezer bags for a fall treat. While the Press is on its summer break, look for farmstand bins to start filling with beans, peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes. We’ll be back when the corn is as high as an elephant’s eye!
Carlson Orchards, 115 Oak Hill Road
Cherries and pick-your-own blueberries. Brookdale Fruit Farm’s zucchini, summer squash, pickling cucumbers, and red and white onions.
Doe Orchards, 327 Ayer Road
Pick-your-own raspberries and blueberries, and a limited amount of raspberry jam. Open Tuesday through Saturday.
Harvard General Store, 1 Still River Road
A variety of produce from Harper’s Farm.
Westward Orchards, 178 Mass Ave.
Romaine and leaf lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, cherries, and pick-your-own blueberries. Closed on Tuesdays.
Willard Farm, 218 Still River Road
Zucchini and summer squash.
