Former resident Matt Zimmer graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and was the recipient of the E. R. Gaerttner award as the outstanding nuclear engineering student in the graduating class. He is working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California for the summer and will be attending North Carolina State College in the fall, pursuing a graduate degree in nuclear engineering.
