On Saturday, May 16, the Garden Club of Harvard held its annual sale on the Common. It takes a town—a great town—to pull this together, and Harvard stepped up. Besides the members of the club, many family members and friends pitched in finding boxes, transporting and setting up items on display, and helping to set up and break down the Common area. Partners included Jill Jones, Fruitlands, and Flintlock Farm on the sale day, and Westward Orchards throughout the entire potting process and providing storage year-round. The Girls Scouts donated trees, and the Boy Scouts (and some of their friends) helped to set up on Friday and Saturday, to transport items for buyers, and break down after the sale. DPW’s Rich Nota provided cans to keep things pristine, and Officer Scott Hughes managed the crowds with aplomb. The crowds were wonderful. Thank you all for supporting this annual fundraiser and facilitating the Garden Club’s philanthropic contributions to town education, civic beautification, library books, scholarships, the science fair, scouting, and all grant recipients. A huge shout-out to Harvard, with the deepest appreciation of the Garden Club!
