Family Association Spring Egg Hunt
The Harvard Family Association will sponsor a spring egg hunt Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Common. The egg hunt will begin promptly at 11 and will be followed by activities and crafts. The event is free and open to the public, appropriate to age 7. Don’t forget to bring a basket. Donations for the Loaves & Fishes food pantry are welcome. A Safari Experience
The Harvard Woman’s Club will host a talk by Edie Hettinger about her family’s trip of a lifetime, a South African safari, Monday, April 6, at 12:15 p.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 15 Still River Road. Pillow-making Project
Bromfield senior Lara Schmoyer will hold pillow-making sessions Monday, April 6, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, April 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the public library. Pillows will be donated to the UMass Memorial Medical Center for the benefit of cancer patients. Boxes for donations of fabric and poly-fill are in the Bromfield main office and the public library.
Learn About the Harvard Cultural Council
The Harvard Cultural Council will host a reception in honor of its 2015 grant award recipients Tuesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the Harvard Public Library. Cultural Council grant recipients will discuss their projects, including Concerts at the Common; Harvard Council on Aging; Concord Band Association; Old Frog Pond Farm; Bob Eiland; Bromfield Middle School Drama Society; Sharing a New Song Chorus; Nashoba Valley Concert Band; Virginia Thurston Healing Garden; Fruitlands Museum; Fresh Inkk; Harvard PTO; Harvard Pro Musica; and Scott Jameson. Bach and Beyond’
at Unitarian Church
The Worcester Chamber Music Society will perform “Bach and Beyond” Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church. The concert will feature works of the great masters, including Goldberg Variations for string trio, as well as music from the 20th and 21st centuries by Berger and Villa-Lobos. Warner Free Lecture: ‘Mind of the Producer’
The Warner Free Lecture Society will host a talk by producer Michael Ambrosino Friday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Volunteers Hall in the Harvard Public Library. The producer of many well-known WGBH public television series, including “Nova” and “Eyes on the Prize,” Ambrosino will talk about his experiences at WGBH in Boston. The event is free and open to the public.

Pilates Open House and Free Classes
Bodylines Pilates will host an open house Saturday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Harvard studio at 325 Ayer Road. Book Collection for Library Book Sale
Book collection for the Friends of the Harvard Public Library’s annual Book Sale will begin Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the main entrance to the library and will continue every Saturday through April 25. Space is limited, and donations must be limited to books in good condition. Please do not bring encyclopedias, magazines, broken or moldy books, VHS tapes, record albums or cassette tapes. Please do not leave books at the old library.
The sale will be held Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, at the public library, with a preview Friday evening May 1 open to Harvard residents who are members of the Friends of the Harvard Public Library.
Brew-haha! Beer Tasting and Competition at General Store
The Harvard General Store’s first Brew-haha! Saturday, April 11, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. will offer beer tastings by popular commercial micro-brewers, an unsanctioned competition among 12 local home brewers, and informaton sessions with sample equipment for home brewers. $10 cover at the door. Growing Up in Harvard
The Harvard Historical Society will present “Growing Up In Harvard, The Diary of Ellery Eaton Royal, 1906-1912” Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at 215 Still River Road. Royal was born in Harvard in 1894 and graduated from the Bromfield School in 1912. His diary has been described as a Huckleberry Finn adventure, Harvard-style.
