Last Saturday the Harvard Friends of the Arts (a subcommittee of the Friends of the Library) wrapped up another great season of performances. This season had everything from Beethoven to freshly minted Berklee graduates to world renowned musicians to a laugh-out-loud production of “Arsenic and Old Lace.” You can expect the same level of quality and variety when we start our new season in the fall.
All these programs are made possible because of a team of great volunteers. Thanks to Joan Eliyesil, Judy Wong, Bob Eiland, Wendell Willard, Bob Jarratt, and Bill Cordner for planning and executing these great events! Further thanks go to the library trustees and library staff for financial and logistical support. A special thanks to Val Hurley for the fabulous baked treats she provided. We also appreciate the coverage for our events provided by the Harvard Press.
These programs have always been free and open to the public. But the performers of this caliber are anything but free. Thank you to those who donated at the shows. The Friends of HPL’s main fundraising efforts are coming up soon. Our annual appeal letter will be delivered to everyone in Harvard shortly, and our annual book sale will be held on the first two weekends in May (book collection starts April 11).
