This week police made five motor vehicle stops, which resulted in three citations and two arrests. The Harvard ambulance responded to nine emergency calls and took four people to Nashoba Valley Medical Center, one to Leominster Hospital, and four to Emerson Hospital. In the wake of a storm that brought high winds and rain over the weekend, police responded to three calls about wires and tree limbs down on town roads.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
Police and EMS personnel were called by state police to the scene of a single-car accident on Route 2 eastbound at 1:04 p.m. The ambulance took one person to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
At 1:02 a.m. a caller reported losing a wallet in the vicinity of the Center on the Common. An officer searched that area and found the wallet, then turned it over to dispatch for pickup by the owner. At 1:12 p.m. an officer on patrol ran the license plate of a car he was following and signaled it to pull over after discovering that the registration had been revoked. The officer subsequently arrested Stephen Alphonse Benoit, 44, of Pepperell, for driving with a revoked registration, driving an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle, forging or misuse of a Registry of Motor Vehicles document, driving with a suspended license, and possession of stolen property valued at less than $250 (the license plate). Benoit was fingerprinted and booked in Harvard, then taken to Clinton Court for arraignment. At 3:31 p.m. police and EMS personnel responded to the scene of a single-car accident on Stow Road, where a car had gone off the road and into a utility pole. The driver was taken to Emerson Hospital; no citations were issued. A West Bare Hill Road resident called at 6:49 p.m. to report an unfamiliar dog in the area. Police notified animal control. A Park Lane resident called at 11:38 p.m. after seeing someone in the driveway with a flashlight. The caller told police that after she turned on the outside floodlights, the person left. Police checked the area and found a dog walker a few houses away.
Thursday, Oct. 30
At 9:11 a.m. a caller reported suspicions about a man standing by the side of the road on Ayer Road. The caller said the white male was in his forties or fifties, had facial hair, and appeared to be confused. Police checked the area, but the man was gone. At 5:11 p.m. someone stopped at the station to turn in a found wallet. Someone called at 6:47 p.m. to report that two dogs were running around in and out of traffic on Still River Road, near the General Store. Police notified animal control.

Saturday, Nov. 1
At 8:19 a.m. a Warren Avenue resident called to inform police she had found a credit card. An officer stopped by to pick it up and notified the owner that it had been found. At 6:41 p.m. state police requested the Harvard ambulance for a medical emergency on Route 2 westbound. The ambulance subsequently took a man to Leominster Hospital.
Sunday, Nov. 2
At 1:45 a.m. Boxborough police requested the assistance of Harvard officers at the scene of a domestic disturbance in Boxborough.
Monday, Nov. 3
At 5:57 a.m. fire personnel were called to a home on Partridge Hill Road, where heavy smoke was coming from the second floor. The occupants were evacuated while the source of the smoke was extinguished. Someone called the station at 8:54 a.m. to report that a car with no handicap placard was parked in a handicap parking spot at the General Store. The driver moved the vehicle. At 9:13 a.m. an Ayer Road resident reported that someone had smashed a window at the residence with a rock. A Littleton Road resident called at 3:01 p.m. to report that an unfamiliar car was parked on her property. The officer who responded discovered it belonged to someone bow hunting in the area and advised the hunter that parking was not allowed there. The hunter left the area. At 8:27 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped a car for speeding and arrested the driver, a minor, on charges of possession of a Class D substance.
