Half days at the schools
Monday, Nov. 24, and Tuesday, Nov. 25, will be half days at the Bromfield School and at Hildreth Elementary School to accommodate parent-teacher conferences. Dismissal at Bromfield is at 11:05 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. at HES. Note that these are earlier dismissal times than on “early release” days.
Soccer registration
ends Dec. 31
Registration for in-town and travel team soccer for spring 2015 is now open. Under-10 through Under-18 registration ends December 31. A $40 late fee is applied after that date. To register, go to harvardsoccer.org.
Booster Club to sell trees
The Bromfield baseball Booster Club will host a fundraising Christmas tree sale outside the General Store Friday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays, Dec. 5 and 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. Trees will also be sold every Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 29 through Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The trees will be freshly cut Fraser firs from Vermont in the 6- to 8-foot range, with a few taller trees. A receipt will be provided for the tax-deductible portion of the purchase. Proceeds support the Bromfield baseball program. For questions, or to reserve a tree, contact dmagan1@yahoo.com.
Registration is open
for Ski Club
The Parks and Recreation Commission has announced that registration is open for Ski Club, which skis at Mount Wachusett. Students in grades 5 through 12 are eligible to register. The program runs on Wednesdays after school for six weeks beginning Jan. 7. Space is limited so sign up early. Deadline for registration is Dec. 2. Register at harvardparkandrec.org.
Van drivers wanted
The Council on Aging is seeking COA van drivers to provide van transportation for people 60 years or older and/or for those with disabilities. Drivers are trained through MART (Massachusetts Regional Transit Authority). Candidates must pass a CORI, receive ongoing training, and submit to random drug testing. CDL drivers are also wanted.
