I want to thank the voters for giving me the opportunity to serve on the Board of Selectmen for the next two and a half years. I look forward to working with the other selectmen to represent the people of Harvard. I would also like to thank all the volunteers that helped me on my campaign and Deb Thomson for running a friendly race. And I want to clear up one possible confusion—for a small portion of election day, I was standing near some party signs for the state election that people had left on the stone wall and did not mean to imply that any party endorsed me (they did not). I happen to be an independent, and agree with this newspaper that party politics should not play a role in town government.
