Bromfield seniors win academic honors

School administrators and guidance counselors hosted a breakfast celebration for members of Bromfield’s Class of 2015 whose academic achievements have been recognized by state and national programs.

Seniors Sofia Catalina, Emily Erdos, Heather Flokos, Meghan Glade, Christopher Hogan, Harriet Holmes, Matthew Polimou, Lara Schmoyer, Julia Stoddard, and Hannah Wharton all received commendations from the National Merit Scholarship program. No one at Bromfield is a semifinalist this year.

Philip Kuong has been awarded a scholarship by the Daughters of the American Revolution.

For Massachusetts students, John and Abigail Adams scholarships offer up to four years’ free tuition at a state college or university. These awards are based on MCAS scores and go to seniors who achieve at least one advanced and one proficient score in English and math and score in the top quarter of students in their district.

The students named for the Adams scholarships are Madeline Beckman, Sofia Catalina, Sophia Collins, Alexandra Cronin, Price Day, Emma Delaney, Kyra Doher, Peter Donaldson, Emily Erdos, Heather Flokos, Katrina George, Meghan Glade, Daniel Hillier, Kathryn Hodskins, Christopher Hogan, Philip Kuong, Adam Lorenz-Kruk, Evelyn MacMahon, Aliza Maki, Charles Mednieks, Colby Newham, Nicholas Norcross, Olivia Wicklund Phillips, Panna Rasania, Samantha Reid, Emma Ritter, Nicholas Robinson, Lara Schmoyer, Julia Stoddard, Kristin Sundeen, Hannah Wharton, and Eleanor vandeVaart.
