When I think of the ideal selectman, I hope for someone who’s a quick study—an analytical thinker, able to make reasoned judgments on a range of topics in a timely fashion. Deb’s long career as an attorney fills this requirement perfectly. I also value someone who is able to balance fiscal realities with human needs, who understands that the role of town government is to enhance every citizen’s quality of life to the extent possible within the limits of our budget. Deb’s professional focus on the elderly and persons with disabilities gives me great confidence that she is expert at striking this balance. Finally, I think of someone who loves this town the way I do—whether hiking or horseback riding on our conservation trails, or helping to fund worthy town projects and groups as a member of the Community Preservation Committee, Deb is someone who is dedicated to Harvard as a resident and a volunteer.
I hope you’ll agree with me that Deb Thomson is the ideal candidate for selectman, and join me in voting for her on Election Day!
