The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously this week to appoint six members to the new Town Hall Construction Committee, which is charged with “overseeing and executing the construction phase of the Town Hall’s renovation in accordance with the schematic plan 1B.”
The BOS originally approved a five-member committee, but after receiving six applications, Town Administrator Tim Bragan recommended that all six be appointed, given the travel schedules of some of the applicants. The board voted unanimously to amend the charge to change the number of committee members from five to six. The charge was also amended to add the task of interviewing and recommending an Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) to the committee.
- Laura Andrews of Scott Road currently serves on the Hildreth House Improvement Committee and the Elderly and Disabled Tax Aid Committee. She has an MBA and is now retired. Andrews was a director of financial services at Gillette, and she has experience in budgets, financial analysis, and project management.
- Bill Barton of Stow Road is a volunteer firefighter and is director of account management at McKesson Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. He has financial and project management experience.
- Richard Blinn of Old Littleton Road runs his own carpentry and design business and has more than 30 years of experience in the design and construction field.
- Al Combs of Oak Hill Road. Combs has served on the Master Plan Steering Committee, the Economic Development Committee, and the Agricultural Advisory Committee. He is currently the owner and director of Green Hut Investments and Meadow March Riding Center. He has experience as a building contractor and was president of a general contracting firm that specialized in historic preservation projects.
- Jack Guswa of Old Meadow Lane previously served on the Harvard Groundwater Study Committee, the Bare Hill Pond Committee, and the Massachusetts Housing Opportunities Corporation Ad Hoc Committee. A consulting hydrologist at JG Environmental, he has project management experience.
- Rick Maiore of Woodchuck Hill Road currently serves on the Water and Sewer Commission, and has served on many boards and committees over the years, including the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board. He has a B.S. in engineering as well as an MBA. Now retired, Maiore was a division manager at Honeywell and a director at Pacific Scientific. He has both project management and engineering experience.
