Lyvers in Rowing Hall of Fame

October 3, 2014

Mark Lyvers of Bolton Road was recently inducted into the Syracuse University Rowing Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to both the men’s and women’s rowing programs at Syracuse University. Lyvers was honored by the men’s program for his leadership as captain and for his skill as one of the greatest strokes ever on the men’s team. He was also honored by the women’s program for his dedication and hard work in building a competitive program as the coach of the first intercollegiate women’s rowing program at Syracuse in 1977. In recognition of these accomplishments, a brand new women’s rowing shell was named in his honor as the “Mark Lyvers.”
