Bonnie Sweeney and John and Mary Sweeney are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Stephen Clinton Sweeney, to Carly Helen Cummings, daughter of Daniel and Betsey Cummings of South Portland, Me.
Stephen graduated from the Bromfield School in 2006 and in 2010 received his bachelor’s degree in economics and history from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y. He is a financial software consultant at Varden Technologies in Boston. Carly graduated from South Portland High School in 2006 and received her bachelor’s degree in English and studio arts in 2010 from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Carly graduated with a master’s degree in painting and drawing from the University of Washington in 2013. She has been displaying her art and is currently teaching art appreciation at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Cambridge, Mass.
The couple is planning an October wedding in Maine.
