We recently moved to Harvard from neighboring Boxborough, where we had stellar cable and Internet service through Verizon Fios. We had absolutely no cable or Internet problems for the two years we lived in Boxborough. Upon moving to Harvard last summer, we were shocked and disappointed that Fios was not available in Harvard. Now that Charter is on its way out and Comcast is being courted, I would like to ask why Verizon is not being pursued as an option?
Verizon Fios was lightning fast and reliable—you also have a lot of options with Verizon. I work from home and download and upload huge files all day long. I need fast, reliable Internet service. I would like to recommend that Verizon Fios be a replacement for Charter. Slow Internet may be just a hassle for some, but for Harvard residents who work at home and are absolutely at the mercy of a cable and TV provider, slow Internet may wind up being much more than just a hassle—it can affect our jobs and livelihoods.
