Thank you to everyone who participated in and attended last Friday’s Festival of Cultures. I am grateful that we were able to find an alternate date for the postponed event. This is a fabulous event and one that would have been deeply missed. It is the ambassadors’ and performers’ commitment to and passion for teaching the HES community about their countries and cultures that make this event special. Community members enjoyed learning about other countries from trying out games from around the world, learning their names in another language, and much more. The performers were exceptional with their playing, dancing, singing, and martial arts. The international food silent auction was a huge success as well, enabling us to cover our expenses so we can offer this event to the public. Thank you also to those who did the behind-the-scenes work: Deb Barton, Alice Bartram, Tim Clark, Helena Sylvester, Anjani Hodgkins, and Sharon Correnty. Thank you also to Bromfield ninth-graders (Grace, Erika, Nicolas, Eli, Talbot, Hannah, and Ariana) for helping set up, clean up, and run the crafts table. They were a huge help! This was my first year coordinating this event, and it was a fabulous group of people to work with.
