Thank you for supporting the Good Friday Walk

April 25, 2014

With mostly gray skies and brisk temperatures—but no snow—this year’s Good Friday Walk on April 18 proved to be a very pleasant day for nearly 200 walkers from over 27 towns who collectively walked more than 1,000 miles. This outstanding, cooperative effort could not have been such a success without the support of more than 50 volunteers, the Congregational Church of Harvard who hosted the walk, the Harvard Department of Public Works, the Harvard Police Department, the local scout troops, and the local newspapers. Altogether, the walk received pledges and donations of more than $23,000 to benefit Loaves & Fishes and Sharing Inc., with contributions still arriving (GFW, 94 Jackson Rd., Suite 105B, Devens, MA 01434)…it’s not too late.

Both Loaves & Fishes, serving people in Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton & Shirley, and Sharing, Inc., helping people in the rural South, are grateful for the generosity of our wider community. Many thanks to all who participated in the Good Friday Walk—we are enormously grateful for your support.
