The members of the Harvard Solar Garden would like to express their appreciation of the support shown by the town for Article 48 at Annual Town Meeting. This vote advances the principle of equal treatment of solar installations under Massachusetts law, whether located on an owner’s property or in a vacant field.
We have taken renewed inspiration and energy from the heartfelt expressions of many individual speakers supporting renewable energy, as well as advocating for fairness and equity. Our belief that Harvard is the ideal home of the first community-shared solar garden in the state has been reaffirmed by the overwhelming support of the town, and we are grateful.
