I would like to thank Keith Cheveralls for his many years of service on the School Committee. As the junior member on the School Committee, I can tell you that done well, this job is a lot of work, and ramping up is a significant challenge for any new member. There is a lot to know. I have told SusanMary before, that I’ve come to understand that it really takes two years of experience to get a firm grasp on all the pieces of managing this school district. I learned an awful lot from listening to Keith and always made an effort to absorb as much as I could of his wisdom and experience. I often heard Keith remark in the course of our conversations that whatever decision we make on a given issue should in the end be guided by “what’s best for the kids.” He always kept that as his focus. Our schools are the crown jewel of our town, and they are better off for Keith’s service. He is a thoughtful, diligent, kind, and decent human being, and I will greatly miss having him here with us.
