The Harvard League of Women Voters provided support for voter registration at a naturalization ceremony that took place on March 19 at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Audrey Ball, Patti Anklam, Joe Hutchinson, and Mitch Sklar handed out voter registration forms and American flags before the ceremony. Mitch is a Bromfield senior working as an intern with the League as his senior project. Of the 222 new citizens—including a Bromfield student—more than half turned in a completed voter registration form after the ceremony. The League mailed the completed forms to the new citizens’ cities and towns on their behalf.
Naturalization ceremony support is a new activity for the Harvard League of Women Voters. The league will participate in another ceremony on May 1 at Fitchburg State University.
