The Carolyn Waters Trio, which in addition to Waters includes guitarist Charles Ortolani and percussionist Ken Porter, will perform Saturday, Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m., at Volunteers Hall in the Harvard Public Library. Doors open at 7 p.m..
Carolyn Waters is a singer and songwriter who fuses blues, roots, folk, and other musical genres in unique performances with songs about love, loss, social justice, and good old-fashioned fun. Over the years she has opened or shared the stage with folk and blues artists, including Judy Collins, Tom Rush, Kate Campbell, Joe Jencks, Lydia Warren, and the late, great Shirley Lewis.
Accompanying Carolyn for the evening will be Charlie Ortolani, a masterful guitar player who has been playing for more than 46 years in a variety of styles including folk, country, rockabilly, and rock and roll. He has opened for or played with various folk and country artists including Bill Staines, Michael Smith, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, and Brenda Lee.
Rounding off accompaniment for the evening will be special guest percussionist Ken Porter, who, in addition to being a member of the Carolyn Waters Trio, has been privileged to accompany the legendary Pete Seeger on numerous occasions.
