Celebrate a successful Farmers’ Market season
Thursday, Nov. 7, 5 to 7 p.m. at Bromfield School cafeteria. The Harvard Farmers’ Market Farm-to-Friend program and the Council on Aging will host a “Harvest Farm-to-Table Dinner” for Harvard seniors. The dinner is being organized by Bromfield senior C.J. Klem as his senior community service project. Chef Paul, with the help of Bromfield students, will prepare the feast, which will include turkey and all the fixings. Chef Paul will use as many local ingredients as possible, including squash, potatoes, salad greens, cranberries, and apples. Seniors should call Hildreth House at 978-456-4120 to sign up. If you need a ride, let the COA know when you sign up and they will put you on the list for a ride on the van.
Monthly restaurant review stays close to home
Friday, Nov. 15, noon at Hildreth House. The COA invites seniors to Hildreth House for lunch and a movie. The menu will include Chef Paul’s soup, bread, and dessert. Sign up by Monday, Nov. 12 at 978-456-4120 and let the COA know what movie you want to see and whether you need a ride. Lunch is limited to 20 people. The cost is $3.
Learn about shingles
Monday, Nov.4, 10 a.m. at Hildreth House. If you have had chicken pox, the shingles virus already dwells in your body. Tamara Bedard, RN, will present a workshop on shingles, which will include information about the shot. Call Hildreth House at 978-456-4120 to sign up.
