Patrick Ware, a 2012 Bromfield graduate, was part of the eight-person Hobart College crew team—the Statesmen—that recently won its third Liberty League Boat of the Week award at the Boston competition “Head of the Charles.” The Statesmen varsity team finished in the top 10 in the Charles’ collegiate eights race for the eighth consecutive year. Hobart’s team also earned Boat of the Week honors after winning the season-opening HWS Challenge on the Canal. The Statesmen’s second varsity eight secured the award after winning the Head of the Genesee. Patrick is the only student-athlete on the team to have been in all three award-winning crews. He is the son of Sharon McCarthy and Jim Ware of East Bare Hill Road.
