Mother of Harvard man, worked for Navy and USO in WWII

Henrietta (Bottinelli) Alfano, age 89, of Framingham died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She was the wife of 57 years to the late Vincent D. Alfano. Born and raised in Framingham, she was the daughter of Carlo and Erminia (Beltrami) Bottinelli. She graduated from Framingham High School in 1942 and remained an active leader in social activities and reunion planning. She worked for the Department of the Navy and was an active member of the USO during WWII. Mrs. Alfano worked for many years as an administrative secretary to the superintendent of the Framingham Public Schools and was active in community real estate sales. She also was a member and past president of the Framingham Union Hospital Aid Association, an organization she held dear to her heart.
She is survived by her children, Vincent C. Alfano and his wife Christine of Lancaster, Lisa Linehan and her husband Richard of Grafton, and Peter Alfano and his wife Tammy of Harvard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kate C. and Scott M. Alfano; Richard J. and Courtney L. Linehan; Lewis A., Lily G., and Olivia S. Alfano; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved poodle Gigi.
Mrs. Alfano’s funeral was held on Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Bridget Church in Framingham. Visiting hours were held at the Norton Funderal Home, Framingham.
