The first annual Harvest Fair, held last Saturday at the Farmers’ Market, attracted an array of vegetables, eggs, and honey for the judges’ consideration. In the student category, Julia Clark won first place and best in show for the tallest sunflower, while her sister Phoebe Clark won first place and best in show for her basket arrangement of vegetables. The remaining ribbons were awarded in the adult category, including Ann Taylor, who won first place overall, placed first in the “longest bean” competition, and won best in show and first place for eggs. Tim Clark won first prize for beans. Keith Turner won first place for his cucumbers, mini-pumpkins, and winter squash, and won both best in show and first prize for his zebra green tomato and five-vegetable basket arrangement. Jay Fagan won first prize and best in show for the tallest sunflower. Nathan and Jennifer Finch won first prize for best cherry tomatoes and longest carrots, and were awarded first place and best in show for their honey.
