Last week, 15 Bromfield art students spent a school day at Bare Hill Pond learning how to paint in a representational abstract style in a plein air painting workshop taught by North Carolina artist Sue Scoggins.

“Scoggins has a unique style of painting and a vibrant color palette that lend themselves beautifully to on-site, open air painting,” said Bromfield art teacher Martha Brooks, who came up with the idea for the workshop. The workshop was funded through a grant from the Harvard Schools Trust
