Brothers Jacob Waldman and Ben Waldman, Bromfield School Class of 2009 graduates, will be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Massachusetts Amherst on May 10. The Waldmans are the sons of Julie Stubbs of Amherst and Howard Waldman of Acton, both formerly of Harvard.
Jacob is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. Ben is majoring in microbiology and was the recipient of the 2012 Goldwater scholarship. Both are members of the UMass Amherst Class of 2013.
Phi Beta Kappa honors recent college graduates and current juniors and seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in the humanities and fine arts, natural sciences and mathematics, and social and behavioral sciences. Founded in 1776, it is the most prestigious national honor society recognizing excellence at the undergraduate level.
