At 9 a.m. a caller reported that a woman who had dropped off her children at Hildreth Elementary School was dumping trash. Police say the woman was relocating trash that was in her car from the back seat to the front, in preparation for depositing it at the transfer station. At 1:51 p.m. a Bromfield student reported that a vehicle had backed into her car while she was in school. Police are investigating.

Thursday, March 28
A Bolton Road resident called the station at 8:37 a.m. to ask for assistance in stopping an acquaintance from forwarding political text messages. Police spoke to the person who had been sending the messages and asked her to stop. At 10:47 a.m. a caller reported that three people were stuck in an elevator at the Village Nursery School on Poor Farm Road. The fire chief arrived and assisted the three in climbing out of the lift, which was stuck between floors. An Ayer Road resident called at 11:02 a.m. to report her suspicions that a neighbor in her apartment building was smoking marijuana. Police say there was no need for an investigation. At 2:49 p.m. a doctor requested that the ambulance transport a patient to the hospital. The patient was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Friday, March 29
At 2:10 a.m. an officer on patrol found several picnic tables in the roadway at the intersection of Ayer and Still River roads. The officer relocated the tables to the Common and notified the General Store to secure the tables. An officer on patrol at 2:36 a.m. stopped at Bromfield to investigate a car parked there. Police say the car belonged to a janitor, who was just leaving. At 3:21 p.m. police received a report that a cell phone had been stolen from a classroom at Bromfield. They are investigating.
Saturday, March 30
At 11:53 a.m. a Still River Road resident reported that a permitted fire he was burning had gotten out of control. The fire department extinguished the blaze. At 6:09 p.m. a caller reported a car on fire on the Route 2 on-ramp on Ayer Road. Police say the car was not on fire, but the brakes were overheating. The owner relocated the vehicle to the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot to await assistance. Boxborough police called at 8:28 p.m. requesting that a Harvard officer assist in serving a probation-violation warrant.
Sunday, March 31
A Woodside Road resident called at 5:13 p.m. to report that someone had broken a window in her home. Police are investigating. At 9:44 p.m. an officer on patrol stopped to investigate a man in the roadway on Cleaves Hill Road and found that he was standing by to ensure safe passage for some salamanders that were crossing the road.
Monday, April 1
At 3:40 p.m. a Lancaster County Road resident called to request assistance in shutting off a faulty fire alarm. A fire officer responded. At 7:26 p.m. a Tahanto Trail resident reported that a rowboat and oars had washed up onto the shore of the pond, and the caller was concerned that someone may have fallen out of it. A fire officer responded and determined that the boat had been under water for some time and was not part of a recent boating accident.
