Harvard Schools Trust Dinner-Theater Gala
A limited number of tickets are available for the Harvard Schools Trust’s annual Dinner-Theater Gala to be held Saturday, March 16. The Gala will begin at 6 p.m. with a production of Max Frisch’s “The Arsonists” by the Bromfield Drama Society at the Cronin Auditorium, directly followed by dinner and dessert catered by Lucia’s Tavola, and a silent auction at the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Building at 7 Elm St. All proceeds from the Gala will be used to fund grant requests for educational enrichment programs at Hildreth Elementary School and the Bromfield School.
This year’s silent auction features more than 30 items, including works by muralist Bruce Davidson and watercolorist Harding Mudge Bush, a Durga Studios yoga package, a Bare Hill Rowing summer package, New England Aquarium tickets, a tour of the State House with Rep. Jen Benson, Shaker-style end tables created by craftsman Peter Vincent, and more.

Lego Expo
The Harvard Public Library will host its fifth Annual Lego Expo Saturday, March 16, with times and categories for all ages: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., ages 3 to 5; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., ages 6 to 8; 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., ages 9 to 12, teens 13 to 18, and adults, anyone over 18. Participants should bring constructions of their own design to be judged. Register in the Children’s Roomle. Due to space limitations, the Lego Expo is open only to Harvard residents and children who attend school in Harvard.
Well-Adult Clinic
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Harvard Board of Health, will hold a Well-Adult Clinic Tuesday, March 19, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hildreth House. Mass Audiology will offer free hearing tests. Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening, and diet teaching; no appointment is necessary. The Harvard Public Library will host a spring treats workshop for grades six and up Thursday, March 21, at 2:45 p.m.
SAGE Crossing Foundation Presentation
Harvard SEPAC will host a presentation about the SAGE Crossing Foundation by founding president Linda Davis and SAGE carpenter John Bradford, Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the Bromfield School library. SAGE Crossing was founded in 2007 to create a green-model farmstead for autistic adults, with a template that could be reproduced on small farms and orchards throughout Massachusetts and the country. HES Festival of Cultures
The Harvard Schools PTO will hold its annual Festival of Cultures, celebrating the community’s diversity, Friday, March 22, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Hildreth Elementary School. In the HES gymnasium from 6 to 7:15 p.m., attendees can travel the world with “Ambassadors” from roughly 20 countries who will share their culture in a variety of ways. From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., there will be short performances in the cafetorium by local children from several different cultures. In addition, students in grades 2 through 4 will present the woven Mandalas they crafted during the recent ‘Weaving Together: Threads and Voices’ artist-in-residency program with visiting artist Sarah Haskell.
The school-wide art show opens the same evening. Each grade will display internationally themed projects completed in art class.
Rabies Clinic
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in cooperation with local veterinarians, will provide rabies immunization for dogs and cats Saturday, March 23, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the town garage on Depot Road.
Dogs and cats over 6 months of age, not previously immunized, and those with a 2010 orange, oval rabies tag must be immunized. The vaccine is effective for three years for dogs and cats more than one year old. Dogs and cats between 6 and 12 months old and those whose immunization has lapsed must receive a booster within one year of the initial inoculation. Cats must be brought in cages or closed boxes during the last half of any clinic. The charge per immunization is $15. To receive a three-year rabies vaccination for pets, owners must present proof of current vaccination. Otherwise, a pet will receive a one-year vaccination.
Concert at the Garden
The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden’s next “Concert at the Garden” Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. will feature the Saturdays, a musical group that blends folk, bluegrass, rock, and the blues. Admission is $10 for Garden members, $15 for nonmembers. The Healing Garden, a nonprofit organization, is located at 145 Bolton Road and offers support, educational, and therapeutic services to those affected by cancer. Tree Grafting Workshop

Good Friday Walk
The 29th Annual Good Friday Walk’s effort to raise $29,000 for Loaves & Fishes, the largest food pantry in North Central Massachusetts, and Sharing, Inc., which helps impoverished youth in the rural South, will take place Friday, March 29. The walk begins at the Harvard Congregational Church and follows a five-mile loop. Walkers can register anytime from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and can walk as far as they like. Each walker is asked to raise a minimum of $25. Sponsor sheets are available at the library and churches, and online at www.loavesfishespantry.org.
