Eleanor Agosta of Bolton Road has committed a year to help students in Boston succeed by serving as an AmeriCorps member with City Year. Agosta, who graduated from Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in 2012, will serve on the DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson and Johnson team at Orchard Gardens K-8 School. During her 10 months of service, Agosta will support teachers and at-risk students, focusing on attendance, behavior, and course work by serving as a tutor, mentor, and role model.
Agosta was one of more than 1,100 young adults who applied for just 265 positions with City Year Boston.
