Dr. Michael Dubrule will become the interim director of special education for the Harvard schools when current director Pam DeGregorio retires at the end of 2012. Dubrule will hold the position from January to June 2013, Superintendent Joe Connelly announced at the Nov. 13 School Committee meeting.
Dubrule is currently interim superintendent for the Berlin-Boylston Regional School District. He was previously the special education director in Leicester and also served as superintendent there.
Connelly reported that he had interviewed four candidates for the position, after receiving 12 applications.
Connelly said that he will conduct a search for a full-time special education director, which he expects to complete by July 1, 2013, when his own appointment as interim superintendent will come to an end.
