This holiday season, please take time to consider the animal shelters that are helping keep abandoned, abused, and available animals healthy, happy, safe, and warm. These animals have been mistreated and deserve good care and warm, loving homes. As many people in Harvard know, having a pet means so much more than just owning an animal. It means responsibility and love as well as having a companion, a playmate, a comfort, a joy, and a friend.
The MSPCA Nevins Farm is a fantastic animal shelter that devotes itself to maintaining the health of beautiful animals ranging from dogs, cats, and small animals to chickens, ducks, horses, goats, and pigs, and placing them in caring homes. However, it runs only on donations and is always in need of supplies. Please help support this shelter by donating to the Holiday MSPCA Drive at the Bromfield school from Dec. 3 to Dec. 21. A wide variety of donations is needed, varying from household supplies like toilet paper and bleach to outdoor equipment, large-animal feed, pet food and toys, blankets, and more. The official wish list is available at www.mspca.org/assets/documents/wish-list-general-2012-1.pdf.
Please drop off your donations at the Bromfield School in the box labeled MSPCA. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact me at kate.rowatt12@gmail.com.
