 On the road with COA

Call the COA office at 978-456-4120 for more details or to sign up for trips.

  • Thursday, Nov. 1. At 7:45 p.m., a group from the Council on Aging will go to Concord to see “Mr. Roberts.” In this 1948 Tony Award winning classic, a restless crew aboard a cargo vessel idling in the South Pacific is desperately craving onshore action. When they clash with their captain, it is Mr. Roberts who bails them out. Tickets are $8 at the door, plus $5 for the van. Van room is limited, so sign up early.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 14. The Council on Aging will be visiting the Taza Chocolate Factory, which is a “bean-to-bar” chocolate factory in Somerville. The tour group will be able to sample stone-ground Mexican-style dark chocolate, learn about cocoa beans, and see the machinery used to make traditional stone-ground chocolate. Lunch is first at S&S Restaurant in Inman Square, then on to the chocolates. The cost of $15 pays for both the van and the tour. The group will leave the Hildreth House at 10:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m.
